Marshiela (Shiela) Ann Pardue Foust, 84, of Clarksville, TN, died on Monday, December 10, 2012 at Clarksville Nursing and Rehabilitation.
The funeral will be held at 12 p.m., Saturday, December 15, 2012 at the First Presbyterian Church with Rev. David Handley officiating. Visitation will be held on Friday, December 14, 2012 from 4-8 p.m. at Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Funeral Home and from 11 a.m. until the hour of service on Saturday, December 15, 2012 at the church.
Mrs. Foust was born on January 7, 1928 in Tampa, Florida, the daughter of the late Robert Alexander Pardue and Mary Jane (Maisie) Williamson Pardue. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Edward Foust.
She attended UT Junior College and graduated from UT Knoxville in 1949 with a BS in home economics, and received a MA in education from APSU in 1968. She taught home economics at MCHS and CHS and was a guidance counselor at CHS for 23 years. Mrs. Foust was an elder and an active member of the First Presbyterian Church, the Friendship Sunday School Class, Presbyterian Women, and a volunteer at Urban Ministries. She was also a member of the Montgomery County Retired Teachers Association, the Contemporary Bookclub, Amateur Garden Club, and the Elegante Club. She was an avid reader, enjoyed traveling and playing bridge.
Mrs. Foust is survived by four sons, Charles Edward Foust, Jr. and wife, Kris of Clarksville, TN, Dr. Robert Thomas Foust and wife, Dr. Kim Foust of Concord, NC, Dr. John Thornton Foust and wife, Dr. Rebecca Foust of Oak Ridge, TN, and David Cooke Foust and wife, Tamara Foust of Lexington, SC; one daughter, Mary Shiela Foust of Brentwood, TN; and twelve grandchildren.
