Obituary

Norma A. (Cairns) Feugill, 84, of Methuen, died peacefully Sunday, December 9 at Sutton Hill Nursing Home in North Andover after a long period of failing health.

Norma, daughter of the late Newell and Sarah (McGilton) Cairns, was born in Oxford, Ohio on January 15, 1928. She was raised in Sherbrooke, Quebec, Canada, attending the local schools. She met the love of her life, Raymond T. Feugill, marrying him in 1950 and it was then that she came to Methuen where she has resided ever since.

For many years prior to her retirement in 1988, Mrs. Feugill was employed with Craig Systems, Inc. as an Executive Secretary. She was a communicant of St. Lucy’ Church in Methuen, was an officer in the Handicapped Street Hockey League and enjoyed playing tennis at the Cederdale Health Club in Haverhill. More than anything, she will be remembered as being a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Norma adored her family and greatly enjoyed the time she was able to spend with each of them.

Norma will be deeply missed by her beloved husband, Raymond T. Feugill; her children, Barbara G. Torrisi and her husband Joseph of Methuen, Caroline P. Flynn and her husband Michael of Newburyport and Brian P. Feugill and his wife Sherry of York, Maine; one sister, Barbara Teer of Methuen; five grandchildren, Christopher Torrisi, Susan Snyder, Patrick Flynn, Charley Feugill and Lily Feugill; three great grandchildren, Phoenix, Talon and Jackson and many nieces and nephews. Her son, Raymond T. Feugill, Jr. of Methuen died in 1984.

Family and friends will gather to honor and celebrate Norma’s life in a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Lucy’s Church, 254 Merrimack St., Methuen on Wednesday, December 12, 2012 at 10 AM. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery, Methuen. A calling hour at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence St., Methuen will precede the Mass from 8:30 AM until 9:30 AM on Wednesday.
