Carl A. Maccarone Jr. passed away peacefully at his home in Medford following a extended illness. The husband of Margaret W. (Wilson) he was sixty years old.
Born in Brookline he was the son of the late Susan V. (Medugno) and Carl A. Maccarone. Carl was raised and educated in Medford. He later served in the US Army during the Viet Nam War.
After his military service he was employed by the Mass Port Authority as a heavy equipment operator retiring in 2003. Carl was a member of the Amvets Post of Boston where he enjoyed playing cards with his friends.
Carl devoted himself to raising his family and he greatly enjoyed being with his grandson.
Surviving in addition to his wife Margaret are two daughters, Rachel A. Maccarone of Medford and Justine C. Douglas and her husband Richard L. III of Everett. His loving granson Richard L. Douglas IV. His brother Joseph L. Maccarone of No. Reading and his sister Lynda Baiungo of Somerville. Carl’s funeral will be held from the Dello Russo Funeral Home , 306 Main St. Medford, on Saturday, June 26, at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Francis of Assisi Church, Fellsway West at 10. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
