Arcenio “Larry” Tavares, age 91 of Fall River passed away December 8, 2012. He was the husband of the late Silvania (Silvia) Tavares and son of the late Antonio and Maria (Oliveira) Tavares. He was a retired jigger at Newport Finishing, a WWII US Army veteran, a member of the St. John’s Athletic Club and a parishioner of Espirito Santo Church.
Larry was the father of Debra Couturier of Fall River and the late Patricia Rodrigues; brother of the late John, Jesse, Antone, Manuel and Joseph Tavares and Francelina Sardinha; grandfather of Melissa Sousa, Charlene Rodrigues and Kenneth Correia. He also leaves 3 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
His funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home, Inc. 1521 N. Main St., Fall River Tuesday at 8 A.M. with a Mass of Christian Burial in Espirito Santo Church at 9 A.M. Interment in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours Monday 4-8 P.M. www.rogersfuneral.com
