George A. Wilt age 73 of Salem, died peacefully at his home, Wednesday, December 5, 2012, following a brief illness. He was the life companion of Janet M. Dansreau.
Born in Lynn, he was the son of the late Hollis S. and Annette (Lacroix) Wilt. George served as a musician in Germany and stateside with the U.S. Army. Following his discharge, he went on to have a varied career including working for R & K Precision Machine Co. He later became an independent sales rep for several companies. George also served as a Deputy Sheriff for Essex County.
In addition to Janet, he is survived by a son, Jeff M. Wilt and his wife Betty Jo of Beverly, a daughter, Kristian Wilt of Beverly, a sister Holly Smith of Middleton.
His family will be receiving relatives and friends on Monday, December 10, 2012 at the Levesque Funeral Home, 163 Lafayette St. [Rt. 114 / 1-A] Salem from 4:00 to 7:00 PM.
