Obituary

GLOUCESTER: Evelyn J. (Peterson) Lattin, 92, died Sunday, November 18, 2012 in the Seacoast Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was the wife of the late Dewey E. Lattin.
Born in Ipswich on August 6, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Nestor Peterson and Corinne (McKinnon) Beck. She grew up in Rockport and was a graduate of Rockport High School class of 1938. She had also attended the Massachusetts College of Art.
Evelyn was employed as a registered dietitian at the Union Hospital in Lynn for several years before her retirement. She had also once owned and operated the former Blue Anchor Restaurant in East Gloucester for many years. An avid sports fan, she loved watching the New York Giants and the Boston Red Sox.
She is survived by her daughter, Diane (Silva) Spanks and her husband, Donald of Gloucester; a son, Darrell Silva and his wife, Lyn of Salisbury; six grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter. She was also predeceased by her sister, Bernice Ferro and granddaughter, Angela Silva.
Her funeral service was privately held in the Beech Grove Cemetery, Rockport. Expressions of sympathy may be made in her memory to the “Friends of Seacoast” c/o Seacoast Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, 292 Washington St., Gloucester, MA 01930.
