Jennie (Andrews) Fernandes, 94, of New Bedford died Wednesday December 5, 2012 at Brandon Woods of New Bedford after a long illness.
Born in Cedarville, the daughter of the late Fortunato and Mariana (Gonsalves) Andrade, she lived in New Bedford most of her life.
Mrs. Fernandes was a parishioner of Our Lady of the Assumption Church.
She attended Project Independence Day Care.
Survivors include a son, Steve Gomes of New Bedford; a daughter, Susan Gomes Barros of Fairhaven; a sister, Rose Cardoza of Arizona; a granddaughter, Tylee Barros of Atlanta; her special nieces, Sandra Ford, Betty Rose, Diana Costa, all of New Bedford, and Shirley Barboza of Wareham; and many other nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Mary Silva, John Andrews, Luiz Andrade, Sylvester Andrade, Frank Andrade, Henrique Andrade, and Antonio Andrade.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday at 9 AM at Our Lady of the Assumption Church. Burial will follow in Rural Cemetery.
