Catherine Hanson, 77, of Derry died Tuesday December 4, 2012 at Parkland Medical Center in Derry, after a period of declining health. Catherine was born May 4, 1935 in Liverpool, England and was a daughter of the late Joseph and Catherine (Bergan) Hanson. She was a survivor of World War II in England and moved to Albany, NY with her family at the age of 14. She was educated in Albany, and had been a resident of Derry, for over 25 years.
She was employed as a receptionist with several companies, including Macy’s and Sanders Corp. She was proud to be a naturalized American citizen, and was a communicant of St. Thomas Catholic Church of Derry.
Members of the family include three sons, Peter J., Robert P. and James P. Edmunds, three daughters, Pamela H. Hanson, Joyce E. Smith and Jennifer J. Edmunds, six grandchildren, Nathaniel, Daniel, Megan, Ian, Nathan and Conner, and two great grandchildren, Michael and Ella, as well as one sister, Margaret Hanson, of Binghamton, NY.
There is no calling hours, after cremation, a Memorial Service will be held Saturday December 8, 2012 at 3pm at the Peabody Funeral Home and Crematorium, 15 Birch Street, Derry, NH.
