Obituary

Auburn - Walter C. Hamilton, 98, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 5, 2012, at Life Care Center of Auburn. Born September 13, 1914, in Boston, MA, he was a son of the late Charles and Annie (Humphries) Hamilton. He was predeceased by his wife Annie (Coulter) Hamilton (1986); brothers Lawrence and George Hamilton, sister, Olive Coulter; and step-brother, Leslie Hamilton. He is survived by a brother Russell Hamilton and a sister Shirley Tebo, both of Millbury; 4 daughters, Annie Ballan of AZ, Donna Abusamra of Brimfield, Gail Johnson of Worcester, Cynthia Burnett of Auburn; 11 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He graduated from Cambridge St. School in Worcester and worked as a machinist at L. Hardy Knives Co. and Paramont Bearings Co. until his retirement in 1979. Walter was a former deacon at Bethel Baptist Church and a member of Belmont St. Baptist Church in Worcester. He enjoyed nature, whittling, carpentry, gardening, reading his Bible and above all, his love of the Lord who sustained him throughout his life.

Calling hours will be held Monday, December 10, 2012, from 10-11 a.m. in Nordgren Memorial Chapel 300 Lincoln St. Worcester. The funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Hope Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Belmont St. Baptist Church, 25 Belmont St., Worcester MA 01605.
