James E. Nobis, 62, of 165 Tiffany Drive died June 22, 2004 at Lakes Region General Hospital after a sudden illness. He was born in Somerville MA on July 21, 1941, the son of Edward and Lillian (Noble) Nobis.
He was employed as a service manager by the Dead River Company. Mr. Nobis was stationed in Lewiston, Maine, Gorham NH and was transferred to Laconia in February 1992. He retired from the company in March 2001 after more than twenty years of service.
Family members include his wife of 25 years, Diane (Krause) Nobis of Laconia; three daughters, Dawn Moore and her husband Brian Moore of Lewiston Maine, Tina Paine and her husband Harold Paine of Oxford Maine and Sandra Price and her husband Bob Price of Gilford; three grandchildren, Kristen Moore of Lewiston ME, Samantha Paine and Nicholas Paine, both of Oxford ME; a sister, Joan toner of Colorado and a brother, Billy McCormack of Mass.
Calling hours were in the Simoneau & Lambert Funeral Home, 139 Church St. Thursday from 6 to 8 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated in Sacred Heart Church, 291 Union Ave. Friday at 10 AM. Rev. Adrien Longchamps, pastor was the celebrant. Burial followed in Bayside Cemetery. Timothy C. Molan and David L. Furber were the funeral directors.
