Obituary

Hansi Dunzelmann Orgain passed away peacefully on Wednesday morning, December 5, 2012 in Clarksville following a long struggle with cancer. Hansi was 88 on her last birthday, January 19, 2012.
Born in Clarksville in 1924 to parents, Richard and Erika Dunzelmann, Hansi grew up in Clarksville, spending time in Germany with Richard’s and Erika’s families until the approach to World War II prevented further trips. Hansi spent many happy summers at Camp Nakanawa on the Cumberland Plateau near Crossville, TN with girls, with whom she remained lifelong friends. Following graduation from Clarksville High School, Hansi studied at Stephens College, Columbia, MO.
On June 28, 1947, Hansi married her high school sweetheart, Harry Hobson Orgain, Jr., with whom she spent many loving years, raising a family and living in Clarksville together until his death in February, 1996. Together, Hansi and Harry remained active in many civic efforts across the Clarksville and Fort Campbell communities. Hansi was a member of Madison Street United Methodist Church of Clarksville.
Hansi is survived by daughter, Nancy Orgain Randolph and husband Randy of Alexandria, VA, and their children: Mieke van Leeuwe, Matthew van Leeuwe and Trey Randolph; daughter, Hansi Orgain Russell and husband Dale of Clarksville, TN, and their children: Darby Russell Walden (Lincoln) and David Russell; and four great-grandchildren: Miller and Haynes Walden and Avery and Kate Russell.
She was predeceased not only by her husband Harry, but also by her sister, Annemarie Dunzelmann.
The family thanks the staff of AseraCare Hospice and Home Instead caregivers for their attention and support over the last several weeks.
Visitation with Hansi’s family will be at Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Funeral Home on Friday, December 7, 2012 from 4-7 p.m. and Saturday, December 8, 2012 from 12-1:30 p.m. Graveside service will be held on Saturday, December 8, 2012 at 2 p.m. at Greenwood Cemetery with Rev. Cliff Wright officiating.
