Noah Lee Wood, 92, of Tifton died Tuesday, December 4, 2012, at Golden Living Center. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 8, 2012, at the First Baptist Church of Ty Ty. Rev. Jim Duggan will officiate with burial to follow in the First Baptist Church of Ty Ty Cemetery. Paul Richardson, Calvin Perry, Wayne Wood, Homer Wood, Kenny Wood, Steve Wood, Greg Wood, Kyle Perry and Keith Perry will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Friday, December 7, 2012 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Mr. Wood was born on November 18, 1920 in Ben Hill County and was the son of Everett Duncan Wood, Sr. and Mary Ann Elizabeth Hogan Wood, both deceased. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Irene Allen Wood, who died on January 2, 2010; one son, Elbert Wood; three sisters and two brothers. He was a retired farmer and a member of Ty Ty Baptist Church.
Mr. Wood is survived by two sons, Emory Wood of Hortense and Robert Wood of Claxton; three daughters, Bennie Perry of Norman Park, Robbie Dodd of Ty Ty and Angela Yawn of Ty Ty; two brothers, Everett Wood, Jr. of Ty Ty and Samuel Wood of Norman Park; one sister, Minnie Bullington of Ty Ty; 14 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
