In Taunton, John “Jack” F. Farrell, 84 years old, died peacefully at Morton Hospital on Dec. 1, 2012 while surrounded by his loving family. He was the son of the late Dr. George Farrell and Ann (Brown) Farrell. He was a resident of Taunton for 59 years. He was the cherished husband of Shirlie A. (Fickert) Farrell for 60 years, celebrated on Nov. 11, 2012. Beloved father of five children, John A. of Poughkeepsie, NY, Bruce of Berkley, Cheryl Greco of Taunton, David of Middleboro and Lisa Tommasiello of Attleboro. Grandfather of Stephanie of NY, Jason of Florida, Seth of Nevada, Alicia of Taunton and Jacob of Middleboro. Great grandfather of three, Bryanna and Siobhan of NY and Jaden of Florida. Jack was a 4-H Club Agent for Bristol County MA for over 25 years. He touched the lives of many young adults in 4-H through his teaching ways, kind words, and patient mannerisms. He enjoyed Onset Beach on Cape Cod where he first met his wife Shirlie Ann. He loved boating, fishing, quahogging, and cooking his catch for his family on the weekends. He also enjoyed gardening, wood burning, arts and crafts and many home projects. He especially liked the time spent with his family. He will be lovingly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Funeral from the O’Keefe-Wade Funeral Home, 70 Washington St., Taunton, MA 02780 on Thursday, Dec. 6th at 9am. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Nicholas of Myra Church at 10am. Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours on Wed. from 4-7pm. Burial is private at the request of the family.
