Obituary

Donald T. Hills, 81, of Derry, NH, died Saturday December 1, 2012 in the VA Medical Center in Manchester, NH. He was born in Rice Lake, WI on April 28, 1931, a son of the late Tower and Minnie (Farr) Hills, and had been a resident of Derry for over 50 years, formerly living in Idaho. Mr. Hills served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict where he was a recipient of the Purple Heart. He later served in the US Navy aboard the guided missile cruiser USS Boston. He had been employed as a custodian for Pinkerton Academy for many years, formerly working at Dick's Mobil at the traffic circle in Derry. Mr. Hills enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing and woodworking.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Patricia (Riley) Hills of Derry; two sons, Michael Hills and his wife Charlotte of Laconia, NH, and Patrick Hills of Derry; three grandchildren, Michcala Hills and Arianna Hills both of Addison, ME, and Beckie Huntoon of Laconia; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, December 5th from 5 - 8pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11:00am in the funeral home. The burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery in E. Derry.
