Obituary

Andrew (Sochovka) Lenns of Scranton died Tuesday in Scranton after an illness. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Yanisko Lenns, in December, 1993.

A longtime resident of Taylor, son of the late John and Anna Baraga Sochovka, he retired from the post office in Taylor. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Church, Taylor. A Navy veteran of World War II, he served aboard the aircraft carrier USS Kadashan Bay in the South Pacific.

Surviving are five children, Janet Swartz, Lititz; Marilu Keeney, Laguna Niguel, Calif.; attorney Charles Lenns, Valencia, Pa.; Dr. Thomas Lenns, Hilton Head, S.C.; and John Lenns, Raleigh, N.C.; two sisters, Frances and Velma; a brother, Thomas; 11 grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by sisters, Anna and Mary; and brothers, John, Joseph, Albert, Carl and George.

Private funeral services were held Saturday from the Michael P. Glinsky Funeral Home Inc., 129 Grant St., Olyphant, with Mass celebrated in St. Ann's Basilica, Scranton. Pallbearers: Matthew Lenns, Zachary Lenns, Alexander Keeney, Nicholas Keeney, Thomas Sochovka and Bret Moyer. Interment, private in St. John's Cemetery, Taylor. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Ann's Basilica.
