Herbert T. Marsh, 82, was peacefully called home to the Lord on November 30, 2012 with his daughter and grandson by his side. Herbert was the husband of the late Janice D. Marsh for 57 years, who passed away August 17, 2012. He was also predeceased by two of his sisters Lucy and Theresa. Herbert retired from the United States Air Force in 1991, having served his country for 28 years and was an U.S. Air Force Veteran of the Korean War. TSgt Herbert T. Marsh was an aircraft mechanic and during the latter part of his years at Westover Air Force Base he ran the coffee cart with great pleasure. He was an avid painter and handyman after he retired. He was always on hand to help friends and family with any job. He enjoyed driving his wife, daughter, son-in-law and grandchildren to Walt Disney World in Florida many times, where he rode the rides like a kid. He is survived by his sister, Marie, daughter, Debra Ashley, son-in-law, Craig Ashley, grandson, Ryan Ashley and his girlfriend Megan, granddaughter, Kathryn Chianciola and grandson-in-law, Brady Chianciola. He leaves his beloved great grandchildren Connor, Azrael, Olivia, Cooper, Nolan and the very soon to be born Parker. Calling hours will be held on Monday, December 3, 2012 from 4:00-6:00 p.m. at the Grise Funeral Home, 280 Springfield St, Chicopee. A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday December 4, 2012 at 8:30 A.M. with a Prayer Service starting at 9:15 A.M in the funeral home. Burial will follow in the MA Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Agawam. In lieu of flowers, his family requests donations are made to St Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
