Obituary

Weston: Rose Marie Rodgers passed from this world on November 19, 2012. She was 85 and lived in Weston from 1959 until her death. Born Rose Marie Alice Else von Redern on the Kupferhammer in Brackwede, Germany on July 21, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Isa and Joachim von Redern and the sister of the late Hans Gert von Redern. Following her graduation from Heidelberg University, she worked in Paris and Frankfurt before immigrating to Montreal in 1953. There she met the late Charles R. Rodgers, whom she married and moved to Weston with in 1959. She and Charles were avid tennis players for more than 30 years at Wightman Tennis Center, and members of The First Parish Church in Weston from 1959. Mrs. Rodgers was formerly President of The Dartmouth Women’s Club of Boston. The Rodgers were also members of the Wellesley College Club. Mrs. Rodgers is survived by her son Daniel C. Rodgers and his fiancée Cybèle Gontar of New York City, her cousin Nomita Brady of Bethesda, Maryland, her husband’s daughter Lilian Mohin of London, England, Timothy, Cay, Theresa and Jake Mohin of Austin, Texas, St. Louis, Missouri and Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Andrea Mohin of New York City, and close friends Colin and Una Bowness of Weston. A Memorial Service for Mrs. Rodgers will be held at 1:30 pm on December 14, 2012 at The First Parish Church in Weston. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Mrs. Rodgers to The First Parish Church in Weston, The Dartmouth Women’s Club of Boston or the Weston Public Library.
