New Bedford - Passed away Wednesday, November 28, 2012, Ernest E. Laventure, 91, of New Bedford. He was the widower of Marie Antoinette "Toni" (Laliberte) Laventure.
Ernie was the son of the late Ernest E. Laventure and the late Mary "Molly" (Tripp) Laventure. He is survived by his son Ronald and his daughter-in-law Flora of North Dartmouth. Ernie also was Grandpop to Lori Laventure and Eddie Morris of Las Vegas, Nevada; Ricky & Christine laventure of East Freetown and Shari Allain of Fairhaven. He was the great-grandfather of Tanya Allain, Chace Allain, Michael Gadbois and Leanne Laventure.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War 2. He was employed as a transport trucker for Associated Transportation and retired from Stanley Oil. Ernie was a longtime member of the Paskamansett Beagle Club and raised and trained many champion beagles including his buddy, Jennie, who survives him. The club was his passion.
Relatives and friends are invited to atttend a graveside service at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, December 4, 2012 at the Maple Grove Cemetery, Reed Road, Westport.
