Matthew J. Quinlan, 50, of Bellingham died Thursday, November 29, 2012 at the Milford Regional Medical Center after a long and courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. He was the beloved fiancé of Shirley Melanson of Franklin.
Born in Norwood on September 20, 1962, he was the son of Bernard F. Quinlan of Framingham and the late Judith C. (Paton) Quinlan.
Matthew was a longtime resident of Bellingham and graduated from Tri-County Regional Vocational Technical High School in Franklin.
Matthew was the owner of Coverings, a wallpaper and painting business in the Franklin and Bellingham area, for many years.
An avid outdoorsman, Matthew enjoyed hunting, fishing and deep-sea fishing. He also enjoyed woodworking and carpentry.
Besides his fiancé and father, he is survived by two sisters, Mary Jane Moyer and her husband Todd of Rehoboth Beach, DE and Suzanne Schmidlein and her husband Rick of Norfolk, a brother Stephen Quinlan and his wife Meg of Hopewell, NJ and many nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Bernard Quinlan.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Monday, December 3 from 5 – 8 p.m. in the Ginley Funeral Home of Franklin 131 Main Street in Franklin followed by a prayer service at 8 p.m.
