Jarvie, Alexander T. of Quincy, died November 28, 2012. Beloved husband of the late Dorothy C. (Feeney) Jarvie. Loving father of Paul A. Jarvie and his wife Sharon Provost Jarvie of Quincy. Brother of the late Rita Jarvie, Donald Jarvie and Eileen Bacon. Cherished grandfather of Alex Jarvie of Braintree, Carolyn P. and Michael Jarvie both of Quincy.
Alexander was born in Somerville and grew up in Everett. He lived in Charlestown for most of his life before moving to Quincy 13 years ago. He worked for the United States Post Service as a supervisor for 20 years before retiring in 1981. In his earlier years Alexander worked for Eastern Gas and Fuel. He enjoyed music of the 30s and 40s and was a staunch Democrat who enjoyed politics. Alexander was an avid stamp and postcard collector with an extensive collection. Most of all he dedicated his life to his family, they will miss him dearly.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Monday 4-7 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:15 AM on Tuesday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. John’s Church, Quincy at 10 AM.
Burial in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.
