Carlos Vega, 87, of Derry, NH died Thursday, November 29, 2012 at the Parkland Medical Center in Derry surrounded by his loving family. He was born on December 18, 1924 in Guayaquil, Ecuador, a son of the late Enrique and Rosa (Ruilova) Vega. Carlos served in the military while living in Ecuador. He later retired from Malden Mills as a textile worker.
He is survived by his two sons, Carlos E. Vega and his wife Susan of Derry, and Fernando Vega and his wife Diana of Miami, FL; six grandchildren, Michelle Solis, Jennifer Campion, Danny Vega, Tony Vega, Xavier Vega, and Sofia Vega; four great grandchildren; his siblings Enrique Vega, Anita Salazar, Marta Khunn, and Aurora Vega, all of Ecuador, as well as the Viteri and Guzman families of Fla., USA. He was predeceased by his wife, Matilde H. (Guzman) Vega in 2009.
Funeral services were held on Monday, December 3rd at 1:00pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry. The burial followed in the Forest Hill Cemetery in E. Derry. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research, Church Street Station, PO Box 780, New York, NY 10008-0780.
