Agueda (Correia) Tavares, age 63 of Fall River passed away November 28, 2012. Born in Bretanha, São Miguel, Açores, she was the wife of Jose Tavares and daughter of the late Jacinto and Cristiana (Hilario) Correia. Mrs. Tavares was a retired machine operator having worked at Bradley Scott and Quaker Fabrics and a parishioner of Santo Christo Church. She enjoyed spending time with her loving grandchildren.
Agueda was the mother of Joseph “Joey” Tavares (wife Suzette) Fall River and Stephanie “Stepha” Richard (husband Jeffrey) of Westport; sister of Maria Marques of Fall River, Mario Correia of Gloucester, Emily Silva of Westport, Antonio Correia of São Miguel, Helen Mendonca of Westport and the late Jose Correia. She was the grandmother of Jordan, Dawson and Arianna Tavares and Jeffrey Jr. and Cameron Richard. She also leaves several nieces and nephews.
Her funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home, Inc. 1521 N. Main St., Fall River Saturday at 7:30 A.M. with a Mass of Christian Burial in Santo Christo Church, Columbia St. at 8:30 A.M. Interment in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours Friday 4-8 P.M. www.rogersfuneral.com
