Charline P. (Parent) DiMatteo, 88, of Atkinson, NH died Sat., November 24th at Salemhaven in Salem, NH.
Charline was born and educated in Buffalo, NY, the daughter of the late Pauline (Naef) and Charles Parent. For many years, she and her husband, Joseph owned and operated DiMatteo’s Hoagie Shop in Parkside and Swarthmore, PA. Charline was a member of the Parkside Firehouse Ladies Auxiliary and the Parkside Methodist Church. She later moved to Delaware where she was a member of Longneck United Methodist Church, the United Women’s Society, the 20th Century Club and the Red Hat Society. Charline volunteered weekly at the Christian Storehouse for many years. She enjoyed reading, playing cards and spending time with her friends and family.
She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph DiMatteo.
Charline is survived by her son, Donald and his wife Marsha of Atkinson, NH;
3 grandchildren, Kimberly Brennan and her husband Kevin, Lisa Barr and her husband Scott and Cheryl DiMatteo;
5 great grandchildren, Daniel, Kathyrn, and Nathan Brennan, Shawn Vincent Brennan and Livia DiMatteo Roberts.
Visitation will be at Rockingham Church, 90 Newton Rd., Plaistow, NH on Friday, Nov. 30th from 9:30 – 11:00 AM. The Memorial Service will follow at 11:00 AM. Inurnment will be in Atkinson Cemetery.
The family requests that no flowers be sent. Memorial contributions may be made in Charline’s name to: Salemhaven Resident Council Fund or Silverthorne Adult Day Center, both located at 23 Geremonty Drive, Salem, NH 03079. Arrangements are under the care of Douglas & Johnson Funeral Home, 214 Main St., Salem, NH.
