Orman W. “Shadow” Holt, 72, of Fitzgerald, died Monday, November 26, 2012, at his residence.
Funeral services will be held 11 AM Thursday, November 29, at The Paulk Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Earlie Holt and the Rev. Terry Miles officiating. Interment will follow in New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery in Ambrose. The family will receive friends from 7-9 Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
Mr. Holt was born November 26, 1940 in Ambrose, GA to the late Cecil Claude and Lillie Bordeux Holt. Living most of his life in Ben Hill and Irwin Counties, he was a former Locomotive Engineer for CSX and Seaboard Coastline. He was a veteran of the United States Army.
He is survived by a son: John Holt of Fitzgerald; daughters: Rena and Rev. Terry Miles of Hazelhurst, Stephanie Vassey of Ocilla, Sherry Holt & George Hutto and Heather Holt, all of Fitzgerald; brothers and sister-in-laws: Rev. Early and Brenda Holt of Fitzgerald, Cecil & Lucille Holt of Douglas, Johnny Holt of Jacksonville, FL and Allie Holt of Jacksonville, FL; 8 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Patsy Hughes Holt, 4 sisters and a brother.
