Obituary

Robert J. Kime, 86, of Natick, passed away on November 25, 2012 at the Mary Ann Morse Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Natick. He was the beloved husband of Anne Marie (Johnson) Kime with whom he shared 56 years of marriage.

Born in Charlestown, the son of the late Robert W. and Annie (Roach) Kime, he was raised there and graduated from Roxbury Memorial High School. He went on to earn his teaching degree from the State Teacher’s College in Boston. Mr. Kime began his teaching career in the town of Bourne in 1955 then went on to teach in Wilbraham from 1956-1958 and finally settled in Natick where he taught industrial arts at the Wilson Junior High School from 1959 until his retirement in 1990. He also found great satisfaction in being a summer program director for the YMCA and the Boy’s Clubs of America. During his retirement Mr. Kime enjoyed woodworking and stamp collecting. He was a member of the Natick Elks, the Massachusetts Teacher’s Association, and the National Education Association.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Kime is survived by his children, Robert W. Kime and his wife Darlene Rideout of Medway and Edward C. Kime and his wife Kathleen Gerring of Harker Heights, TX; his grandchildren, Robert James, Julia Anne, Nathan Edward, and Evan James; two sisters, Sally McGonigle of Somerville and Katherine Eaton of Tacoma, WA; two brothers, Daniel Kime of Sanford, FL and John Kime of Sandwich; and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Mary Cavallo, Myrtle Rice, Anne Fyler, and Margaret Blouin.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Mr. Kime’s funeral from the John Everett & Sons Funeral Home, 4 Park St. (at Natick Common) NATICK on Saturday, December 1, 2012 at 8:15 AM to be followed by his Mass of Christian Burial in St. Linus Church, 119 Hartford St. Natick at 9:00 AM. Burial will follow in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Natick. Visiting hours will be held on Friday, November 30, 2012 from 4-7 PM. Donations in his memory may be made to a charity of one’s own choosing.
