Obituary

Shackey (Keleshian) Leasure, age 88, of Brockton died Sunday November 25, 2012 at Signature Healthcare Brockton Hospital after a lengthy illness. She was the wife of the late Earl E. Leasure. Shackey was born in Philadelphia and raised in Avon, a daughter of the late John and Isabell (Kanzaian) Keleshian. She was a graduate of Avon High School and had lived in Brockton for over 50 years. She retired as a school van driver for special needs students in Brockton. Previously, Shackey owned Heights Cleaners in Brockton and was a sales clerk at Almy’s Department Store.
Shackey was past president of the Emblem Club of BPOE in Brockton and past treasurer of the Brockton Chapter of AARP. She was also a member of the Brockton Council on Aging and enjoyed their luncheons and painting classes. She played cards weekly and attended Bingo until recently.
She is survived by two daughters Patricia Reed of Plymouth and Judith Gibbons and her husband Chris of Rochester; seven grandchildren, three great grandchildren and a sister Matilda Fox of Virginia. She was the mother of the late Lawrence Leasure.
Visiting Hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton Thursday 4-8pm. A funeral service will be celebrated in the funeral home Friday at 11 am. Burial will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery, West Bridgewater. Please consider donations in Shackey’s name to the American Cancer Society 30 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701.
