Obituary

Welch, Virginia R. (Dauphinee) of Quincy, passed away at the age of 92, on November 23, 2012. The beloved wife of the late Charles J. Welch. Cherished mother of Joan Sacchetti of Harwich, Elaine Buonvicino and her husband Richard of Duxbury, Virginia Connerty of Raynham, Robert C. Welch of Quincy, Marie Stewart and her husband Paul of Quincy, and the late William J. Welch. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews. Virginia is predeceased by her 6 brothers and sisters.

Virginia was born and raised in Dorchester and is a proud graduate of the first graduating class (1937) of the Jeremiah E. Burke High School. Ginnie and Charlie moved to Quincy in 1953 where they raised their family. Her life was devoted to her beloved Charlie and raising the “Welch kids” in a home filled with much love, laughter and faith. All remember her as an incredibly kind woman, with a wonderful sense of humor and who truly loved life. Her Catholic faith was of utmost importance to her and it guided her in how she lived each and every day of her life. Although she will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her, she is now happily united in Heaven with Charlie and Billy.
