Keith P. Ackerman, age 69, of Noank, passed away after a brief illness, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital on Sunday, November 18, 2012.
Mr. Ackerman was born in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, on November 4, 1943, the son of William C. and Eleanor (Evans) Ackerman. A graduate of Wilkes College, Mr. Ackerman taught art at Fitch Junior High, then Fitch Middle School, from 1965 until his retirement in 2000.
He is survived by his wife, Andrea (Templar) Ackerman; his brother William, his wife Barbara, and their children; his brother Mark, his wife Rosie, and their children; and his sister Marlyn, her husband Harold, and their children.
A private burial was held at Noank Valley Cemetery. For those who wish, donations may be made in Mr. Ackerman's memory to Our Companions Animal Sanctuary, P.O. Box 673, Bloomfield, CT 06002.
