Irene Jowers, age 86, of Douglas, GA passed away on Wednesday, November 21, 2012, at Osceola Health Care following an extended illness. Mrs. Jowers was born on October 4, 1926, in Jacksonville, GA to the late Dave and Ethel Hewlett Bishop.
Survivors include: her daughter: Davon (Kenneth) Burnam, of Ambrose, GA, one son: Earl J. Jowers, Jr., Wray, GA, sister: Willie Maude Spell, of Douglas, GA, brother: William Bishop, of Jacksonville, FL, four grandchildren: Kevin Burnam, of Ambrose, GA, Ken Burnam, of Ambrose, GA, Chris Jowers, of Enigma, GA, Ryan J. Jowers, of Enigma, GA, and three great grandchildren: Breanne Burnam, Bailey Burnam, and Chelsey Burnam, all Ambrose, GA. She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Jowers, Sr.
Visitation will be held on Friday, November 23, 2012 from 6-9 pm.
Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, November 24, 2012 at 4:00 p.m. at Bethany Holiness Baptist Church with Rev. Kenneth Mathews and Rev. Wayne Conway officiating. Interment followed at Bethany Church Cemetery.
