Obituary

Thomas Keeling, Ph.D., 70, of Pine Orchard Road, Chepachet, died Thursday, November 22, 2012 at his home. He was the devoted husband of Beth (Casey) Keeling.
Born in Putnam, CT, he was a son of the late George and Rose (Cacciapouti) Keeling. He had lived in Chepachet for the past 28 years.
He graduated from Burrillville High School, Merrimack College and American International College, where he completed his graduate studies.
He was inducted into the Merrimack College Athletic Hall of Fame and received the Jack Ferns Award for dedicated service to Ponaganset Athletics. He also coached the Ponaganest Middle School track team. He served in the Peace Corps in Panama from 1964-1967. He was the loving babysitter of Matty Marcello.
Besides his wife he is survived by his sons: 2LT Michael T. Keeling, USAF of SanAntonio, Jacob T. Keeling, a URI senior, of Glocester, Nicholas T. Keeling a Brown University Junior, a daughter, Rina Palumbo of Johnston, and his siblings: Dorothy Cook, of Florida, Helen Detrick of Alabama, George Keeling of Burrillville and three grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial Monday at 10am in St. Eugene’s Church, 1247 Putnam Pike, Chepachet. Burial in Acote’s Hill Cemetery. Visitation Sunday 3-7pm in the ANDERSON-WINFIELD Funeral Home, Route 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville. In lieu of flowers donations in his memory may be made to the Foster Glocester Regional School District Track Renovation Fund, 137 Annan Wade Road, North Scituate, RI 02857.
