Priscilla L. (Pat) Lewis, 91, of Derry, died Tuesday November 20, 2012 at Parkland Medical Center. Mrs. Lewis was born August 6, 1921 in Lynn, MA and was the daughter of the late Philp and Clara (Bloomquist) Landall. She was a graduate of Lynn Classical High School, and was a graduate of the Chandler Secretarial School of Boston. She resided in Georgetown, MA, prior to moving to Derry in 1972.
Priscilla was employed for many years as the Secretary to the Managing Editor at the Lynn Daily Item Newspaper. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, the Derry Garden and Women’s Clubs and the Hoodcroft Country Club. She also volunteered at local nursing homes playing piano for residents and knitted items for soldiers overseas. Priscilla enjoyed Candlepin bowling, reading, crossword puzzles, quilting and cooking Swedish desserts. She was a member of the Bethany Covenant Church of Bedford.
Members of the family include her loving husband of 62 yrs. Mayland P. (Nip) Lewis, Jr. of Derry, two sons, Mayland (Skip) Lewis, III of the Philippines, and Philip Lewis and his wife Sheryl of Westfield, MA. Three grandchildren, Mayland P. (Skipper) Lewis, IV, Wynnde Lewis and Beth Green and seven great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her brother Alden Landall.
After cremation, an hour of visitation was held Saturday December 8, 2012 from 10 to 11 am at the Peabody Funeral Home, 15 Birch Street, Derry. A memorial service followed at 11am and will conclude with burial at Forest Hill Cemetery of East Derry.
