Edward F. “Cowboy” Vickery, age 80 of Assonet, passed away November 17, 2012. He was the son of the late John F. & Mabel (Cote) Vickery. Prior to retiring, Edward worked for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Highway Department as a truck driver. He was a US Army Veteran of the Korean War, a member of the V.F.W. Post 6643 of E. Freetown, the Lakeville Eagles Club and a parishioner of St. Joseph Church. Ed enjoyed his retirement spending time with his family, fixing cars and going to Newport Grand.
He is survived by his 2 daughters: Nancy M. Vickery of Fall River and Lisa Meninno (husband Scott) of Assonet; grandchildren: Amy Lee & Kathleen Vickery, Brandon & Misty Meninno; great grandson: Joshua Silva Jr.; many nieces & nephews. He was the brother of the late John E., James, Charles Vickery, Mabel Harrington, and Henry J. Vickery.
Following cremation, his funeral will take place from the MANUEL ROGERS & SONS FUNERAL HOME, INC. 1521 N. Main St. Fall River THURSDAY, Nov 29, 2012 with visitation from 9:00-10:30 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Joseph Church at 11:00 A.M.
