Obituary

Richard J. Fair, Sr. age 77, of Natick died Tuesday, November 20, 2012 at the Mary Ann Morse Rehabilitation Center in Natick.

Born in Natick and a lifelong resident he was the son of the late Martin J. and Katherine M. (Krebs) Fair.

Mr. Fair was a graduate of the Police Academy in 1960 and became a Police Officer for the Town Natick serving for 31 years, and retired in 1991.

Before becoming a Police Officer he was a long distance truck driver and owned his own tractor trailer.

He was a graduate of Natick High School class of 1953 where he was a standout member of the Varsity hockey team.

Mr. Fair along with several other Natick Police Officers founded the Natick Pop Warner youth football program.

He was also active in the Natick Little League and coached his two sons team the Pirates to the 1967 Championship.

Richard enjoyed sports throughout his life as a fan of the Patriots, Bruins, and Red Sox.

He was a golfer and also liked to fish in the Twin Mountain New Hampshire region.

Mr. Fair was a Staff Sergeant serving in the Massachusetts Army National Guard.

He was the devoted father of Richard J. Fair Jr. of Waltham, Kelly Fair of Natick, and the late Joseph M. Fair, cherished grandfather of Patrick William Fair, Laura Jean Fair, Kevin Mitchell Fair, Justice Anne Fair, and Dominique Bova.

Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

He was the brother of the late Donald Fair, Robert Fair, Janet Goddard, former husband of the late Patricia A. (Tabler) Fair and dear friend of the late Karen Heroux.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Richard's funeral on Saturday November 24 at 9:00 A.M. from the John Everett and Sons Funeral Home, 4 Park Street at Natick Common, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Patrick’s Church at 10:00 A.M.

Visiting hours are Friday 4:00 to 7:00 P.M.

Interment St Patrick Cemetery.
