TAUNTON - Lisa Ann Read, a longtime Taunton resident, died at her home on Nov. 19, 2012, surrounded by her family.
She was 50 years old.
Born and raised in Taunton, she was the daughter of Gerard F. Read of Swansea and Nancy (Souza) Read of Taunton.
Educated in Taunton schools, she attended Our Lady of Lourdes School and was a 1980 graduate of Taunton High School.
Lisa resided in the Florida Keys for many years, where she was employed as a shrimp farm manager.
Known as “Island Girl” by her family, she enjoyed ocean sports, including snorkeling, SCUBA diving and boating; and also team sports.
An avid New England teams fan, she attended several Patriots games - her favorite team.
Lisa moved back to Taunton three years ago to care for her ailing mother.
She was most recently employed by Goldstein’s 5 & 10 in Taunton.
In addition to her parents, Lisa leaves three brothers, Brian D. Read, Paul L. Read and Alan J. Read, all of Taunton; her godmother, Elaine M. Souza of Taunton; several aunts and uncles; and numerous cousins.
A celebration of Lisa’s life will be held at the Bella Roma Restaurant, 239 Broadway, Taunton on Saturday, Nov. 24th from 1 to 5 p.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Arrangements are by the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton.
