Wellfleet – Lawrence H. Adams of Wellfleet, formerly of Rockland, MA died on November 20, 2012 at the age of 89. He was the son of the late Zenas and Gertrude Adams and beloved husband of the late Jean (Brown) Adams.
Born in Truro, Larry spent most of his working life in Rockland. Upon retirement in 1982 he relocated to Wellfleet. He was an avid golfer, enjoyed morning coffee and conversation with his friends, traveled widely and loved visiting the many members of his family.
He is survived by two children and their spouses: Nancy Deehan and her husband Jack of Abington and David Adams and his wife Lynne of Hadley. He is also survived by his brothers William (Billy) of Palm Coast, Fl., Robert (Bobby) of Harwich and his sister Alice Snow of W. Yarmouth. His brothers Zenas (Doc), Everett (Barney), Joseph, Franklin and sister Helen predeceased him. He also leaves his grandchildren: Eileen Adams of Lexington, Daniel Julevich of Tampa, FL.,Sheri McLaughlin of Pembroke, Jake Deehan of Whitman, Matt Deehan of Abington and Mike Deehan of Dorchester. His daughter Diana Adams and grandson Michael Adams predeceased him. He leaves nieces Susie (Adams) Sanderson and Casey Sanderson, who provided constant loving care over the last decade of his life. He is also survived by his nine great grandchildren,many nieces, nephews and many dear friends.
Family and friends are invited to a Memorial service in celebration of his life to be held at the Wellfleet First Congregational Church 200 Main St. Wellfleet, MA on Saturday December 8th at 11:00AM. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his name to the Wellfleet Senior Center, 715 Old Kings Rd., Wellfleet, MA 02667 or to the Wellfleet Congregational Church, 200 Main Street, Wellfleet, MA 02667
