Marion R. Taylor, 97, of West St. Medway passed away Tuesday, November 20, 2012 at her home. She was the wife of the late Wilfred Taylor and mother of the late Richard W. Taylor.
Mrs. Taylor was born August 16, 1915 in Mendon, daughter of the late Henry W. and Delina R. (Jacques) Bouchard, the third of eight children. Marion attended Mendon schools graduating high school as salutatorian in 1933.
During World War II Mrs. Taylor was employed at A. J. Knott in Milford, afterwards becoming a homemaker and mother.
Mrs. Taylor was a noted candlepin bowler throughout the Milford area. She was a member of many women’s bowling leagues, often receiving write-ups in the Milford Daily News for her impressive bowling scores.
Marion volunteered for many years as a Girl Scout leader in Milford. Her other interests were reading, crossword puzzles, needlework, sewing, and gardening.
She especially enjoyed family gatherings and was the matriarch of the Bouchard family. Auntie Mae will be missed by her many nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Taylor is survived by her daughter Margaret (Taylor) Manning and her husband Walter of Franklin, her grandsons James Manning of Franklin and Scott Manning of Boston, her sister Janet (Bouchard) Klein of Mendon, three sisters-in-law Claire and Virginia Bouchard and Lois Taylor, brother-in-law Douglas Taylor, and many nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Taylor is predeceased by five brothers Henry, Dona, Wilfred, Arthur and Ernest Bouchard and one sister, Irene (Bouchard) Aldrich.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Saturday, November 24 from 9 – 10 a.m. in the Ginley Crowley Funeral Home 3 Barber Street in Medway followed by a funeral service at 10 a.m.
Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Medway.
