Obituary

Anthony (Tony) L. Acquaviva of Lowell passed away November 17, 2012 at LGH Saints-Campus following a period of declining health. He was 79 years of age.

Anthony was born on July 7,1933. He worked for many years as an employee for the former B&M Railroad and Amtrak. Anthony was also a volunteer for the Paulist Center and St. Anthony Shrine in Boston in the 1970’s.

A resident of Everett for 20 years and a parishioner of Immaculate Conception Church, Anthony moved to Lowell in 2002 and was a communicant of St. Michael Church.

Anthony was the devoted husband of Irene (Zyglewicz) Acquaviva. He was the beloved father of Anthony J., Joseph K. and David J. Acquaviva and Christina M. Marques and her husband Luis. Anthony was the loving brother of Joseph (Pipi) Acquaviva of Weymouth, Caroline Hamilton and Esther Spagnolo of Revere and the late Anna Musto, Rita Prestone, Rose Holdren, Josephine Triulzi, Sebastian and Jerry Acquaviva. He was the brother-in-law of Bernadette Zyglewicz of Quincy and the cherished grandfather of Luis and Cristopher Marquez of Lowell. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be will be held from the A. J. Spadafora Funeral Home, 865 Main Street, Malden on Wednesday, November 21st at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in the Immaculate Conception Church, 487 Broadway, Everett at 10:00 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours are Tuesday, November 20th from 4-8 p.m. Interment in Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.

Donations in Anthony’ memory may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
