Grafton – Irene M. Hermanson, 91, died Saturday, November 17, 2012. Her husband, Vincent W. Hermanson, died in 2000. She was born in Worcester, daughter of Fanny Ropponen and Otto Taavitsainen (the family name was later changed to Davis). She was a graduate of Framingham State College and a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and its Anna Circle. Proud of her Finnish heritage, Irene loved dancing, cooking, and baking and was a member of the Finnish Heritage Society-Sovittaja. Irene worked for the Worcester County Extension Service as a home economist. She is survived by 2 nephews and 1 niece. She was predeceased by her sister, Elvi Salmela.
Calling hours will be held at Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln Street, Worcester, Monday, November 26, 2012, from 3-5:30 pm. The funeral service will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church, 73 Lancaster Street, Worcester, Tuesday, November 27, 2012 at 11 am. Burial will be in All Faiths Cemetery.
