Augusta, GA – Mr. Robert Lee “Blackie” Thompson, 89, beloved husband of 68 years of Birdie Hodson Thompson, entered into rest on Saturday, November 17, 2012 at University Hospital.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, November 21, 2012 in Westover Memorial Park with Chaplain Ron Fearneyhough officiating.
Mr. Thompson was the former owner of Motor Supply of Augusta, Inc. and a former member of Greene Street Presbyterian Church.
In addition to his wife Mr. Thompson is survived by his son, Robert “Robbie” L. Thompson, III (Debra) of Greer, SC; his brother, Larry T. Thompson (Doris) of Augusta; his granddaughter, Leslie Thompson See of Eau Claire, Wisconsin; and his sister-in-law, Liv Ward (James) of Colorado.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday evening, November 20, 2012 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
