TEWKSBURY - Angelina (Campagna) Tangusso, age 97, a beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother, died peacefully at her home, surrounded by her beloved family, Sunday afternoon, November 18th. She was the wife of the late Mario “Mike” Tangusso, a popular Malden Barber and owner of Mike’s Barber Shop, who died in 2008.
Mrs. Tangusso was born in Chelsea, December 16, 1914, one of four children of the late Anthony and Philomena (Madugno) Campagna. She was raised in Chelsea, but lived in Malden the greater part of her life. She moved to Tewksbury 37 years ago.
She was well known in Tewksbury for her abilities as a seamstress, and had a long list of prominent Tewksbury residents as her clientele.
In addition to her expert sewing abilities, she was also an accomplished “gourmet cook,” and possessed a special fondness for flowers.
She is survived by a daughter, Marie P. Garavanian of Tewksbury; a son and daughter-in-law, Michael A. Tangusso and his wife Patricia, of Tewksbury; six grandchildren, Donna Nelson, David Nelson, and Kenneth Nelson all of Lynn, Sandra Fleming of Tewksbury, Mark Tangusso of FL, and Michael Tangusso of North Reading; 13 great grandchildren; 10 great great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was also mother-in-law of the late Hagop “Jacob” Garavanian and grandmother of the late Jaci Manning.
Visiting hours are Sunday, Nov. 25, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Her Funeral Service will follow at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday afternoon. Following cremation, interment will be held graveside at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Monday, December 3, at 1:00 p.m. Flowers are welcome.
