Joaquim DosSantos Ribeiro, "Jack", 83, passed away Saturday November 10, 2012 peacefully into eternal life at New Bedford Health Care Center.
He emigrated from Elvas, Portugal at the age of 30. He was the son of the late Maria Vicent and Jose Ribeiro. He resided in New Bedford and Ormond Beach, Florida for many years. He was a pressing technician for Cliftex Corporation for over 33 years. In his spare time he was an avid antique enthusiast and adored animals, dogs in particular.
He is survived by his two daughters, Laura Ribeiro of Rochester and her companion Michael Frey, and Christine Goudreau and her husband Denis of Ormond Beach.
His Funeral Service will be held on Thursday November 29, 2012 at 6 PM at the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford, with visiting hours prior to the service from 2-6 PM. A private burial service will be held in Sacred Heart Cemetery. In lieu of flowers or gifts, his daughters have requested all donations be made to the Humane Society Animal Rescue League, 31 Ventura Drive, Dartmouth, MA 02747.
