GLOUCESTER – Ruth C. (Hendrickson) Wilber, 91, died Friday November 16, 2012 in the Golden Living Center. She was the wife of the late Roy F. Wilber.
Born in Rockport on October 2, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Hilda (Lumukka) Hendrickson. She was a graduate of the Rockport High School class of 1938.
For several years Ruth worked at the Birdseye Plant on Commercial Street and later at O’Donnell-Usen Fisheries before retiring in 1987.
She is survived by her three daughters, Judith MacRae of Gloucester, Cynthia Caissie of Cape May, NJ and Christine, wife of Steven Demetri of Naples, FL; six grandchildren, Kristin, wife of Adam Catto of Gloucester, Beth, wife of Bert Alves of Palm Coast, FL, Stephen Demetri of Hartford, CT and Leigh, Nicole and Jill Caissie of Cape May, NJ; six great-grandchildren, Meghan, Michael and Eric Catto, Dylan, Michael and Brandon Alves; and great-great-granddaughter, Sabrina Braga. She was also predeceased by her son-in-law, Robert MacRae; grandson, Scott MacRae; sisters, Signe Hendrickson and Evelyn Keefe; brother and sister-in-law, Henry “Pat” and Norma Hendrickson.
In keeping with her wishes, services will be held privately in the Seaside Cemetery.
