Obituary

David Y. Guimont, 69, of Bedford, died November 13, 2012 at his Florida residence after a long illness.
He was born in Manchester on June 20, 1943 to Yvan and Lucienne (Denoncourt) Guimont. He graduated from Bishop Bradley High School in 1961 and always spoke fondly of his time there with his classmates and teachers.
After graduating, he worked as a painter with Guimont Painting Company. He later sold the business to Associated Concrete Coatings where he worked his way up from foreman to president and owner. His diligence has made this family business thrive and is now in its second generation. He was an expert in spray technologies and concrete repair and always kept up with the latest advances in his field.
David was a former board member of the New England Institute of Concrete Repair and the Franco American Center. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulcher of Jerusalem, serving as its New Hampshire delegation representative. He organized and led a pilgrimage to the Holy Land.
He was a communicant of St. Marie Church in Manchester, St. Andre Bessette Parish in Laconia and St. Mark Church in The Villages, FL. He enjoyed traveling, including trips to Quebec City and Montreal, and spending summers at Lake Winnipesaukee and winters at The Villages, FL.
David enjoyed building projects and had renovated several homes during his lifetime. He loved all things trivia and history, especially that of World War II and the City of Manchester. He also loved gardening and had a special talent for growing roses at his Bedford home. He was extremely proud of his French Canadian ancestry.
He will be remembered as a dedicated husband, father and brother who loved watching his children and grandchildren at their school and sporting events. He was very proud of all of them.
He was predeceased by his sister, Denise G. Maurice in 2005.
The family includes his loving wife of 49 years, Doris (Bouchard) Guimont of Bedford and The Villages, FL; five children, Christine Hall and her husband, Tom, Danielle Tuttle and her husband, Tim, and Jeffrey Guimont and his wife, Linda, all of Bedford, Michelle Guimont and her husband, Ian Robinson, of Manchester, and Marc Guimont and his wife, Rebecca, of Bedford; 17 grandchildren, Brittnay, Andrew, James, Timmy, Katherine, Christopher, Elisabeth, Abigail, Madeleine, Meghan, Lea, William, Henry, Kelley, Delaney, David and Shea; two great grandchildren, Elijah and Nathan; two sisters, Andrea Rowley and her husband, Craig, of Dover and Julie Allen and her husband, Bill, of Manchester; a brother in law, Tom Maurice of Merrimack; and several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Tuesday, November 20, 2012 at St. Marie Church, 378 Notre Dame Ave., Manchester. Committal prayers followed at Mt. Calvary Mausoleum, 474 Goffstown Rd., Manchester.
