Maguire, Maureen, 79, of Humarock, (Scituate) and New Port Richey, FL. November 14, 2012. Loving daughter of the late Francis J. “Frank” and Margaret F. (Brooks) Maguire. Dear sister of Sr. Kathleen Maguire CSJ of Milton and Kevin Maguire and his wife Gale of Rockland. Aunt of Kathleen Madden of Rockland, Karen Mcguire of Carver, Kim Zielinski (Joe) of Marshfield and Michael Maguire of Rockland. Great Aunt of Shannon Madden, Colleen Madden, Kelly Madden, Amanda Chasey, Matthew Chasey, Evan Zielinski and Lucas Madden. Maureen was born and raised in Jamaica Plain and graduated from St Thomas High School class of 1951. She was a former Girls Basketball Coach at St Thomas HS and also coached girls Softball and Basketball at St Thomas Parish. Maureen was an avid Golfer and loved watching all of Boston’s major sports teams. One of the most exciting times in Maureen’s life was when she and her fellow employees visited Cuba during the 1950’s; she always told her family how she wanted to return to Cuba to visit. Maureen was a retired linesman for AT&T and New England Telephone; she has been a resident of Humarock since 1946.
Visiting hours will be held at the MacDonald Funeral Home, 1755 Ocean St. Rte 139, Marshfield on Sunday, November 18 from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. Funeral from the funeral home on Monday, November 19 at 8:00 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass in St Christine’s Church 1295 Main St., Marshfield at 9:00 a.m.
Interment will be in the Winslow Cemetery, Marshfield.
