Obituary

Laurent L. Harpin 83, of Newland Ave. died Monday at Landmark Medical Center. He was the husband of Mary Alice (Ciccone) Harpin. Born in Woonsocket, he was a son of the late Narcisse and Eva (Dussault) Harpin. Larry worked in construction and was a lifetime member of the New England Carpenter’s Union. He worked at many area construction sites including Logan Airport, and Millbury Textile Recycling. He also helped build many walls and bridges around Rhode Island. After his retirement he worked part-time for Mosley Corp. building cabinets for several years. Larry was a member of the St. Joseph Sr. Citizens. He enjoyed woodworking, camping, and bike riding, but his greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren.

Besides his wife he leaves four sons, Michael Harpin and his wife Lisa of S. Kingstown, Paul Harpin of N. Smithfield, David Harpin and his wife Charlene and Joseph Harpin and his wife Elizabeth all of Cumberland, two daughters Louise Bradley of Woonsocket, and Janine Durand and her husband Marc of Burrillville, two brothers Leo and Oscar Harpin both of Woonsocket, five sisters, Lucienne Miranda and Jeanne Cote both of Blackstone, MA, Yvette Gervais of Manville, Aline Allard of N. Smithfield, and Claire Marcotte of Burrillville, nine grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. He was also the brother of the late Raymond, Andre, and Ernest Harpin.

His funeral will be held Saturday at 10:00 AM from the Fournier & Fournier Funeral Home, 99 Cumberland St. Woonsocket with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM in St. Joseph’s Church, Mendon Rd. Woonsocket. Burial will be private. Visiting Hours are Friday 4-7 PM. In lieu of flowers donations to American Diabetes Association, Providence RI Office, 146 Clifford St. Providence, RI 02903 in his memory would be appreciated.
