Obituary

Auburn/Charlton - Charlton: Donald G. "Ducky" Fortin, 83, formerly of Auburn, passed away Monday, November 12, 2012 surrounded by his loving family in Overlook Masonic Health Center. He leaves 4 sons and 2 daughters and their spouses: Donald and Gail Fortin of KS, Paul and Linda Fortin of Worcester, Steve Fortin of Worcester, Cathleen and Gary Costello of Auburn, Raymond Fortin of Worcester, Lisa Fortin and Dale Robertson of Worcester; 15 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Betty Fortin; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his former wife Joan (Belair) Fortin, a son Brian Fortin, and his siblings.

Donald was born in Worcester, son of Arthur and Rose (Beauregard) Fortin, graduated from Boys Trade High School and proudly served his country at the end of World War II in the U.S. Navy. He worked for a local Laborers Union for many years and then at National Envelope Co. in production. "Ducky", as he was affectionately known, was an avid New York Yankees and Giants fan, enjoyed deep sea fishing, reading, and spending time with his family.

A memorial Mass will be held on Friday, November 16, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. in Holy Family Church, (formerly St. Joseph Church) 35 Hamilton St. Worcester. There are no calling hours or burial.
