Jewell Powers Gannaway, age 84, of Clarksville, TN, died on Friday, November 9, 2012 in Nashville, TN. She was born on May 4, 1928 in Palmyra, Tennessee, daughter of the late Wylie Jerome Powers and Beatrice Ragan Powers. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Charles Gannaway and great granddaughter, Eva Lusk.
Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 14, 2012 at 1 p.m. at Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Chapel with Brother Samuel Wallace and Rev. Joel Nulty officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 13, 2012 from 2-6 p.m. and Wednesday, November 14, 2012 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. time of service at the funeral home.
Jewell was a bookkeeper for King Engineers. She was a member of Hilldale United Methodist Church and attended Sailor's Rest United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her three daughters, Shelia (John) Gray of Nashville, TN, Yvonne (Tom) Lusk of Clarksville, TN, and Theresa (Jim) Patton of Brentwood, TN; six grandchildren, Julie (Chase) Christopher, Andrew Gray, Amanda Gray, T.J. (Lisa) Lusk, Robert Lusk, Spencer (Carli) Patton; three great grandchildren, John Lusk, Zoey Patton, and Piper Patton.
Pallbearers will be Andy Gray, T.J. Lusk, Robert Lusk, Spencer Patton, Philip Gannaway, David Schuff, Edward Ragan, and Jack Vaughn. Honorary pallbearers will be Erle Butts, Clark Wilbur, Bobby Wall, Wendell Gannaway, Jerry Gannaway, and Harold Harris.
