George C. Anderson , 79, of Iris Ave in Salem, NH, passed away at his home on Saturday, November 10, 2012 surrounded by family.
George was born January 6, 1933 in Philadelphia, PA, the son of Dorothy (Cuscadden) and George P. Anderson. He spent most of his youth in the Trenton/Philadelphia area until he enlisted in the US Air Force in 1950 serving in Germany during the Korean Conflict. In 1962 he moved his family to Salem, NH to work for Raytheon where he was a Draftsman for 33 years, retiring in 1995.
George was married for 47 years to the late Gail (Titus) Anderson who passed away in 2005. They enjoyed traveling to Bermuda and Aruba, playing dominos with friends, and spending time with family.
He is survived by his two sons, George L. Anderson, his wife Karen of Derry, NH and Thomas W. Anderson o f Salem, NH and daughter-in-law Katie Mitchell Anderson of Derry, NH; five grandchildren, Robert Anderson of Manchester, NH, Erik, Emily, Molly, and Ian Anderson of Derry, NH; his sister-in-law, Patricia Gerhard of Cape May, NJ, many nieces, nephews and friends.
Calling hours will be Thursday, Nov. 15th from 4-8 PM at the Douglas and Johnson Funeral Home, Salem, NH.
A private service will be held for immediate family at the Pine Grove Cemetery.
