Obituary

Ernest R. “Ernie” Lambert, 61, of Woonsocket, died Friday evening at home. He was the loving husband of Linda A. (Zatonsky) Lambert. They were married on September 4, 1971.
Born in Woonsocket, he was a son of Marie Marthe (Dery) Lambert and the late Eugene O. Lambert. He remained a lifelong resident of the city.
Mr. Lambert was employed by Stop & Shop Supermarket for over 15 years.
Ernie was well known in area as the proprietor of Lambert’s Liquors on Hamlet Ave. He operated the business for over 24 years and took pride in his relationships with his loyal base of customers.
Ernie was a longtime member of the Cercle Laurier and served as the meat raffle chairman for the club.
Ernie enjoyed the outdoors as a hunter and fisherman and was a member of the Woonsocket Sportsmen’s Club and the Uxbridge Rod and Gun Club.
Planting and tending to his famous garden was a staple of Ernie’s life. Ernie and Linda also raised a plethora of animals at their home.
In addition to his wife of 41 years and his mother, Ernie is survived by a son Mark E. Lambert and a daughter Angela Allard, and her husband Michael, all of Woonsocket. He was the father of the late Maria K. Lambert. He is also survived by two brothers Roland and Rene Lambert, four sisters Suzanne Bourget, Jacqueline Tetreault, Madeleine Laquerre, and Jeannine Boutiette, a granddaughter Zoey Marie Allard and many nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be Tuesday from 5-7 pm in the Menard-Lacouture Funeral Home, 127 Carrington Ave., Woonsocket with a prayer service at 7:00 pm. Burial will be private.
