TEWKSBURY - Helen A. (Trocki) Hair, age 90, died Saturday, November 10, at the D’Youville Nursing Care Center in Lowell, following a long period of declining health. She was the beloved wife of the late Robert Hair, who died on July 5, 1995. She was born in Chelsea, April 16, 1922, the daughter of the late Charles and Stella (Jarmuziak) Trocki, and raised in Chelsea. Her family had summered in Tewksbury since 1932, and moved to Tewksbury as permanent residents in 1946. She graduated from the Whidden Memorial Hospital School of Nursing, and enlisted into the U.S. Navy during WWII. She served at the Chelsea Naval Hospital.
She was an active member of St. Dorothy’s Parish community, where she served on many committees including the annual Christmas Fair. She was a member and former Prefect of the St. Dorothy’s Ladies Sodality for many years. In her later years, she remained active at the Tewksbury Senior Center, and held membership in the Tewksbury Golden Age Club.
She was also an active member in of her community. She loved the ocean, traveling, reading, and doing the daily crossword puzzle with her family. She is survived by three daughters, Patricia A. Hair of Lexington, Linda Hair-Sullivan and her husband Donald Sullivan of Lowell, and Carolyn Shaw and her husband John Shaw of Londonderry, NH; two beloved granddaughters, Lauren Shaw and Danielle Sullivan, her brother Robert Trocki and his wife Edwina of Sandy Hook, CT and her sister-in-law Noreen Trocki of Marshfield, MA; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She is predeceased by her two brothers Stanley Trocki and Charles Trocki.
Her Funeral Mass was celebrated Tuesday, November 13,in St. Dorothy’s Church, Wilmington. Burial with Navy Honors followed at Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett. Memorials to the Tewksbury Friends of the Elderly, c/o Tewksbury Senior Center, 172 Chandler St., Tewksbury, MA 01876, will be appreciated.
